Cox Communications is searching for a Senior Business Process Manager to join our Engineering Enablement team. This person will be responsible for the effectiveness of complex and strategic business processes and the development of sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements. This thought leader will be responsible for maintaining the Engineering Enablement capabilities roadmap; including soliciting requirements, driving alignment internally and externally, understanding the implications to internal and external end to end business processes, and fostering the implementation of the capabilities across people, processes, and tools. This includes, but is not limited to, the supporting processes and tooling for network planning, Residential and Business fulfillment, service assurance activities and the supporting Enterprise capabilities around asset, material, and financial management, and alignment with technical automation capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
• Ability to create and influence strategies to positively impact the organization • Design and improve business processes to achieve process and change improvements and to improve overall business results • Support the creation of measurable benefits related to new and changing capabilities • Ability to solicit requirements and input from a vast array of geographically disparate resources and resources of all levels within the organization and distill to business value information • Ability to effectively facilitate discovery and requirements gathering from an array of stakeholders and subject matter experts • Work cross functionally to facilitate effective knowledge sharing and avoid duplication of effort • Ability to provide thought leadership and engage with Senior Leaders internally and externally in addressing complex business issues • Must be able to translate complex concepts and data into business insights • Documenting and presenting complex data into Executive Level presentations • Documenting and providing information in a manner useful for the execution and development of requirements required to support capabilities and processes • Support coordination of yearly investment planning across program owners within Engineering to plan for capability delivery • Drive, negotiate and resolve internal and external alignment efforts effectively • Able to work in a matrix environment, working closely with Engineering leaders and individual contributors, boundary partners internal and external to Technology • Leader and team player; sets and example for others to follow • Create an open, honest, accountable and collaborative team environment
• 7+ years experienced required in related field (e.g. Process Management, Process Improvement, Quality, Systems Engineering); 5+ years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree • Proven track record of delivering and supporting large scale process changes with measurable benefits • Excellent soft skills such as: interpersonal facilitation, data analysis, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization • Excellent business acumen and ability to negotiate with business partners • Excellent executive presence, including communication and presentation skills • Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio • Working experience communicating, writing, and presenting complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) • 5+ years experience in a management or consulting role • Experience in telecommunications industry or other large system industry such as manufacturing or other utility • Prefer certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) • Black Belt/ASQ certification within 2 – 3 years • Experience with iGrafix
