The Director – Network Inventory Management is an integral role in Field Engineering and Operations. This individual will lead a team of fulltime and/or contract resources responsible for lifecycle management of the Cox Communications Network Inventory Management System.
The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with business partners, software development organizations (internal and external) and field engineering/operations teams to ensure residential broadband services, business services, security and revenue assurance requests are delivered successfully. In addition, this individual will be responsible for requirements gathering, delivery of metrics, key performance indicators, reports, integration design, support and uptime of the network inventory management system.
The successful candidates will demonstrate strong business acumen and possess a blend of business, network technology and software application lifecycle management expertise. This individual will have a versatile background, critical thinking and analytical capabilities, as well as a proven ability to bridge organization boundaries to enable the development of cohesive views of network inventory management needs and then deliver on them. The individual must also possess a proven track record of driving efforts to a successful conclusion.
Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions • Engage with various business boundary partners and engineering/development teams across technology to understand needs and develop solutions in the network inventory management system. • In collaboration with finance boundary partners manage network inventory management systems capital and operational budgets: o Evaluate and recommend all necessary capital budget needs based on business drivers. o Evaluate and recommend all necessary operational cost components and opportunities for efficiency. • Work with and lead cross-functional teams to assess the needs for enhancements to the network inventory management system. • Provide senior leadership with recommendations for network inventory management system improvements. • Provide strategic direction for the replacement or improvement of the network Inventory Management System • Understand technology and product roadmaps that are influenced by evolving customer needs and facilitate continuous revisions to the network inventory management system to take future impacts into account. • Manage several large programs or projects as needed. To include but not limited to: o Enterprise wide, real time, network inventory asset accuracy o All areas of network inventory management system enhancement requests o Security Assurance related requests for integration and metrics o Revenue Assurance support requests for residential and business services o Service Assurance activity enrichment • Interact with Technology governance organizations to ensure that all network inventory management system projects meet all requirements, deadlines and budgets. • Work with various business and technology boundary partners to prepare departmental reports and metrics. • Collaborate across Cox organizational boundaries to obtain strategic alignment as needed. • Mentor and coach direct reports ensuring success in their role. • Performance of other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
10 years or more experience with software design supporting telecommunications and/or broadband service networks.
10 years or more experience with software development and support.
10 years or more experience with network asset management systems support.
A record of successful collaboration and delivery leading diverse teams, individuals and functional groups
Exceptional verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to travel as needed, approximately one to two weeks per quarter.
BS (or a combination of education and experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar technical degree.
5 years or more experience with:
Design, development and integration of Ericcson’s Granite network inventory management system.
Oracle asset management.
Complex systems integration design and support.
Budget and forecasting of diverse software application lifecycles.
